Patients with excessive weight problems do not always make for the best candidates for man-made joints. People that are not obese can usually undergo successful joint replacement surgical treatment. But for individuals who could benefit from it yet are obese, this is not always recommended. At the very least it can be a risky treatment because the heavy weight on the synthetic joint can cause complications. The joint that was replaced may begin to be mechanically unsound that is highly undesireable.

Problems are extremely common relating to the cardiovascular system and especially high blood pressure. The issue with possessing so much weight is it significantly strains the entire body.
